  5. Ñ  Create, compare and tweak any two colors.
  6. Ñ  Duplicate (sample/eyedrop) any screen color.
  7. Ñ  Create web-safe colors.
  8. Ñ  Clip HEX/DEC/WEB values (or color samples*) and paste them into your applications/documents.
  9. Ñ  Paste HEX/DEC/WEB values into RGB III and immediately see the results.
  10. Ñ  The tuck-away option shrinks RGB III for later use.
  11. Ñ  CUES (bottom-center) tells you what's what.

  13. RGB III is the logical successor of (freeware) RGB Calculators I and II, and does everything you always wished a color utility of this kind would do.  (If it doesn't, let me know!)

  16. What you should know now:

  18. Ñ  Click on any color within a colorBar to create that color.
  19.  
  20. Ñ  The three-position Color Depth indicator (above CUES) displays current depth.
  21.                     Ñ            Magenta (top) = millions of colors when lit.
  22.                     Ñ            Light blue (center) = thousands of colors when lit.         
  23.                     Ñ            Green (bottom) = 256 colors when lit. (216 colors when the WebSafe button is lit.)
  24.    Click any one of these to change color depth.  Set to 256 and click the WebSafe button for web-safe colors.

  26. Ñ  To sample (eyedrop) a color outside RGB's window, postition the cursor over the color you want, then
  27.      press the spacebar. *Sampled colors are automatically sent to the clipboard as a 32x32 pixel swatch.

  29. Ñ  The Copy/Paste functions are for individual fields only
  30.         To copy mulitple fields, or a WEB value, click on a CLIP-IT! button.
  31.         To copy ALL fields, press the Command (Apple) key before clicking.

  33. Ñ   The byte/word button (small rectangle) is located just above CUES.  When byte values are displayed, use the 
  34.      CLIP-IT! buttons to copy values.  Click the byte/word rectangle again for normal operation.

  36. Ñ   The Command-Option-Conrol key combination tucks RGB III away for later use, or reopens RGB III.

  41. Ñ  The arrow keys on your keyboard adjust the SPEED or RATE at which the  ColorBar or Shader controls
  42.      operate and are active whenever the cursor is over a control or a control is in action.
  43.      Use the L/R arrows for incremental changes and the U/D arrows for larger ones.
  44.     Ñ  ColorBar SPEEDS are 0-100.  Shader RATES are  .01-.50

  46. Ñ  The ColorBar Controls (the small arrows over each ColorBar) alter colors 514 steps at a time.  For
  47.      incremental changes press the Command (Apple) key then click the control.  You can release the key afterwards.
  48.     Ñ  Each ColorBar within a bank displays the range of colors available to it, given its comapion settings.

  50. Ñ  All pointers within a bank (left or right) point to the same color.

  52. Ñ  When AutoBanker is disabled, you can shift banks by clicking the bank indicator.  When sampling colors,
  53.      use the SHIFT key to change banks.

  55. Ñ  If you upgrade to a new Mac and RGB III doesn't work, try re-entering your serial number.

  65. Conflicts, etc:
  66. Ñ  RAM Doubler 2 and sounds.  These have been fixed.  If you encounter a problem, please report it to me.
  67. Ñ  Changing color depth can sometimes be tricky if other applications are open.  If you have difficulties, close the
  68.     offending application first.
  69. Ñ  Pasting web values is less than precise.  I'm working on it.
  70. Ñ  I've had a report that the mouse has to be moving to sample colors in OS-8.

  72. Registration:

If you have a credit card, the easiest way to register is online.  Just paste this URL into your browzer: <http://order.kagi.com/cgi-bin/register?2SD> and fill out Kagi's registration form.  You may use the Register program to register by email, fax or regular mail.  The method you use depends on how you want to pay.  Fill in the form and click the appropriate button.  If you make an error, Register will let you know.

Payments sent via email are processed within 3 to 4 days. You will receive an email acknowledgement when your payment is processed.  Payments sent via fax take up to 10 days.  If you provide us with your email address you will receive email acknowledgement.  Kagi returns codes by email and paid postcard receipt only.
